Solaris Installation error: panic[cpu0]/thread=fec20160: page_unlock: page fee09c870 is not locked

On trying to install the latest version of Solaris 10 on my Laptop, I received a similar error. On Googling a bit, I found that this was an error related to lower memory. The machine had 512MB RAM. I upgraded the memory to 1GB and was able to install Solaris 10/9 without any issues :-) .

  9. Solaris10_x86 10/09 require a minimum of 539mb for text only and 768mb for Grapical installation. Create a Sun VirtualBox virtual machine instead of a real one.

  10. @Anonymous: Yes, it does require. But the installation manual did say 512MB. Also, I use it on my laptop. With the virtual box, the system gets heated up quickly.

  15. @Anonymous: Are you still getting the error after a memory upgrade or is it on a VM? Dont think there is an OS fix for this.
